The main trophy of the championship “Crystal Globe” he managed to get, having passed all stages with a record margin from the nearest pursuer - in 453 points. The second position in the season 2016 - 2017 was taken by Russian Anton Shipulin. It is an athlete from Russia who is one of Fourcade's main competitors in the upcoming tournament.
In addition to the favorites, a number of talented biathletes, each of whom may well achieve victory in the Cup, claim to have the Crystal Globe. This list includes:
- Emil Svendsen (Norway);
- Johannes Be (Norway);
- Arnd Peiffer (Germany);
- Tarja Be (Norway).
In terms of competition, women are almost as good as their male team colleagues. Among the representatives of the women's galaxy of “stars” there are also a lot of brilliant athletes who are ready to compete for gold medals. According to experts, the following biathletes may be among the victors of the World Cup:
- Laura Dahlmeier (Germany);
- Kaisa Mäkarainen (Finland);
- Gabriela Koukalova (Czech Republic);
- Marie Doren-Habert (France).
Separately, it is worth noting the multiple Olympic champion Daria Domracheva, who represents the Republic of Belarus. Unfortunately, last season the athlete failed to gain her optimal shape and, as a result, the lack of prize prizes of the world championship. It is unlikely that the final of the coming Cup will be without Daria, however, the question of the probability of her winning the tournament still remains topical.
