During the construction of the Moscow metro, mortality and injuries decreased by 30 percent.June 25, 2017
The number of injuries and fatalities during the construction of the Moscow Metro this year has decreased by 30 percent, said Marat Khusnullin, deputy mayor for construction and urban development policy.
“We have strengthened the construction supervision service, and I can confidently state that, despite the increase in construction, which is manifested in certain areas, the number of deaths and injuries has significantly decreased - about 30 percent. This indicator can be read quite important for the organization of work and the quality of their performance in the construction industry, ”he said.
The official said that approximately 40,000 workers were involved in all the functioning construction sites of the Moscow metro. “All over the world, these figures can be considered the largest. Only Beijing alone is trying to compete with us, but this effect does not have any effect on quality indicators, ”said Khusnullin.
In addition, he noted that only in the aspect of developing projects of the metro there are about 5 thousand specialists, including hundreds of foreign citizens. “We have fundamentally changed the technology of the design itself - new branches are built on the basis of European technologies and standards,” he explained.
Prior to this, the Moscow State Construction Supervision Agency reported that in 11 months of the current year 67 accidents were registered at the construction sites of the capital, 29 of which were fatal.
