Honey Maid Does It Again for Love
Just when you thought it was safe to put the tissues away, Honey Maid has done it again with their latest ad.
On March 10, 2014, Honey Maid premiered their all-family-inclusive commercial titled “This is Wholesome” wherein they showed different images of same-sex parents and their children. As The Seattle Lesbian reported, the ultra-conservative group One Million Moms disagreed with the commercial’s content, very publicly, we should add.
“Nabisco should be ashamed of themselves for their latest Honey Maid and Teddy Graham cracker commercial where they attempt to normalize sin,” members of One Million Moms wrote on the group’s website. “Right away it shows two men with a baby, followed by other families, and ends with different families pictured including the one with two dads. This commercial not only promotes homosexuality, but then calls the scene in the advertisement wholesome.”
Conservative talk show host Janet Mefferd agreed with One Million Moms. In March, she wrote on Facebook that she was “so done” with Nabisco, and “even more done with the constant onslaught from the Gay Propaganda Machine.”
