How many calories are in mayonnaise?
Mayonnaise is without a doubt the most popularsauce in our country along with ketchup. It is used for dressing salads, soups and even in hot dishes. However, everyone knows that mayonnaise is more harmful than beneficial, and high calorie content is one of the reasons for this.

How many calories in different types of mayonnaise
Classic mayonnaise is made from eggyolks, vinegar or lemon juice, vegetable oil, various preservatives and spices. With this composition, it should contain a sufficiently large number of calories. But according to GOST, mayonnaise by the number of calories is divided into 3 types:
- Low-calorie mayonnaise. Its fat content is up to 40%. Caloric content of this mayonnaise is on the average about 260 kcal per 100 g of product.
- Medium-calorie mayonnaise. The proportion of fat in this mayonnaise varies from 40 to 55%. Accordingly, and its caloric value rises to 469.5 kcal per 100 g of product.
- High-calorie mayonnaise. The mass fraction of the fat of this mayonnaise ranges from 55% and higher, and its caloric value averages 623 kcal per 100 g of product.
If you follow a diet, you shouldremember that even low-calorie mayonnaise from the diet is better to exclude. Because, in addition to high fat, mayonnaise contains products that do not fit well together, and thus create digestive problems. In addition, mayonnaise for food is prohibited for people suffering from heart disease, esophagus, stomach, and also having problems with the pancreas, liver and intestines.
